Tahanang Pinakamasaya! was a noontime variety show produced by TAPE Inc. and aired on GMA Network. The show broadcasts from the APT Studios in Cainta, Rizal. The show was aired on weekdays at 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm and Saturdays at 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. The show was also broadcast via live streaming on TAPE Inc. Facebook page.

On January 6, 2024, TAPE Inc. rebranded their variety show to Tahanang Pinakamasaya! after Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon won the case regarding the Eat Bulaga! trademark.

History[]

The formation of Tahanang Pinakamasaya! dated back from an internal dispute between TAPE Inc.'s new management (following the "forced" retirement of TAPE CEO Antonio Tuviera, with a member of the Jalosjos family taking over the position) and the group of hosts from Eat Bulaga! led by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon. Eat Bulaga! suspended its production after the hosts and production members filed their resignation on May 31, 2023. GMA Network, aired previously aired episodes of Eat Bulaga! under its deal with TAPE Inc. from May 31 to June 3, 2023. It resulted in the copyright infringement and unfair competition filed by De Leon, Tito Sotto and Vic Sotto, at the Marikina City Regional Trial Court on June 30, 2023. On June 5, the show resumed original programming, with Paolo Contis, Alexa Miro, Betong Sumaya, Buboy Villar, Cassy Legaspi and Mavy Legaspi joining as the new hosts of the show. In the same month, Isko Moreno, Kimpoy Feliciano and South Korean dancer Dasuri Choi also joined the show. TAPE Inc. claimed that they are the owners of the "Eat Bulaga!" trademark, stating that they remain as the same variety show created in 1979. The court ruled that they did not originate the term "Eat Bulaga!", and they registered its trademark in bad faith because the copyright is with de Leon as who created the term.

On December 4, 2023, the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines granted the petition of De Leon, Tito Sotto and Vic Sotto to cancel TAPE Inc.'s trademark registration of "Eat Bulaga!", stating the former have the right to its registration. On December 22, 2023, the Marikina City Regional Trial Court branch 273, directed the defendants, TAPE Inc., to pay 2 million Philippine pesos in temperate damages, P500,000 in exemplary damages, and P500,000 in attorney's fees to plaintiffs Tito and Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon and their creative partner, Jenny Ferre, for committing unfair competition and copyright infringement. A permanent injunction was given to TAPE Inc. and GMA Network, prohibiting the use of the term "Eat Bulaga!", including its logos, songs, promotions, segments and footage recorded before May 31, 2023, for its current programming. On January 6, 2024, TAPE Inc. relaunched their variety show as Tahanang Pinakamasaya!.

The show ended on March 2, 2024 due to low ratings. Awaiting an official statement from TAPE Inc. and GMA Network, Tahanang Pinakamasaya! aired replays of its past episodes from March 4-7, 2024.

On March 7, 2024, GMA Network issued a statement:

Due to unavoidable circumstances, TAPE has made the difficult decision to cease the airing of 'Tahanang Pinakamasaya.'

GMA Network would like to thank TAPE for its invaluable contribution to noontime programming for the past decades, which Filipinos will surely remember for many years to come. The Network will always be grateful to TAPE for its partnership over the past decades. Maraming salamat, Kapuso. '

―GMA Network on the end of Tahanang Pinakamasaya!

That same day, TAPE Inc. also issued a separate statement, which is shown on TV after its replay of the March 2 episode:

It is with a heavy heart that we inform our televiewers that our noontime show 'Tahanang Pinakamasaya' on Kapuso network, GMA 7, will no longer be on air effective March 8, 2024.

TAPE, Inc. extends its profound gratitude to its home network, GMA 7, for a long and fruitful partnership. GMA 7's kind consideration and understanding of the company's unwanted circumstances have been instrumental in helping the company in this transition. Despite our best efforts to save the show, both parties have reached a mutual agreement to finally call of the show.

To the loyal viewers, esteemed hosts, supportive advertisers, hardworking crew and dedicated employees who have been with us from the very beginning - from the longest running noontime show "Eat Bulaga" to the present "Tahanang Pinakamsaya" - our sincerest "Thank you!" and optimistic "See you again!".

Maraming salamat. God bless!

―TAPE Inc, at the end of the last live episode of Tahanang Pinakamasaya!

The show's timeslot was replaced on March 8, 2024 by Lunchtime Movie Hits, and later on April 6 by a simulcast of ABS-CBN's It's Showtime.
